| Summary | 0001520: The LKFS measurement level has changed. | ||||
| Description | SKB did measure LKFS at version "19.534.12" Current version is not meet in SKB specification but oldversion met in old version (19.532.16). Please fix it. SKB did measure LKFS level of each channel after set audio output is external devices. < SKB JIRA Link> https://jira.skbroadband.com/browse/BPM-4757 ** If you check the attached image, you can easily see the difference. | ||||

Hi Wooshin, I checked the volume table of FW 19.532.16 and FW 19.534.12 and they are the same. The last adjustment date of volume table is Augest 5, 2021. Please provide us some test streams (problematic and non-problematic streams) . We need our QA to test and confirm which version is causing the problem. Jerry |
Hi jerry, It may depend on channel, I will share channel stream has issue. Thanks. |
Hi Jerry, http://altserver01.duckdns.org/LIVE_CHANNEL/channel_2.dump thanks |
Hi Wooshin, 1. Our QA would like to confirm with you the test confitions and the setting of the test machine APx 500, so that we can also reporduce the problem in our side. 2. Our QA found that the range of these test streams are about -30dbFs , how can we confirm that the test results are exactly -24dbFs ? Please help to ask SKB QA and sync our test behavior. I have downloaded these test streams and will test these streams throuht stream method to obtain verified results. Jerry |

Hi Jerry, 1. I am checking with SKB Manager, If any update I will share you. 2. LKFS average value measured over 30 seconds is value of attached image. |
Hi, Jerry, As I told you yesterday, it looks like the hardware revision affected to the LKFS test result. Please check attached test result. Thank you. |
Hi Sangmin , Wooshin , We will ship the second source SWAN device to our QA this afternoon. When QA receives it, we will start validating LKFS. Jerry |
Hi Jerry, Thanks for information, I will wait test report. |
Hi Sangmin , Wooshin , I update our QA test report. Jerry |
Hi, Jerry, Your test results show that the software version will affect the LKFS value, am I right? |
Hi Sangmin , Wooshin Yes, Below is the test result of the same version CH2 CH4 CH6 19.534.22 with Old sample -20.969 -27.744 -26.537 19.534.22 with New sample -20.866 -27.699 -26.337 We will test again with QA and analyze which version caused the LKFS change Jerry |
Hi jerry, Please update your analysis. Thanks. |
Hi Wooshin, Here is our QA test report for other versions. About col 2 and col 3 , QA said that the average of 30 seconds did not select the correct start time, so it caused errors. And QA test again after that. From the test report, we did not find any changes. Is it because Foxconn and SKB have different testing methods? Our test streams are provided by you. Jerry |
HI Mr. Jerry Lin and Mr. Sean Chiang, We asked SKB to test again with another samples. Their test result was good. So we picked up DUT that has some issue on LKFS. But we cannot investigate this issue in Korea. So we would like to send it to Foxconn RD in Taiwan. If you need any additional information, then please let me know. Best Regards, SuhYoung YOON |

Hi, SH We has deliveried one defective PCBA and one OK PCBA to Fii VN factory today. Here is invoice for you reference. Thanks ! Tom |
Hi Mr. SH, The LKFS SOC swap rework has failure. VN SMT followed the SMT rule and did swap, but the risk was about 40% for swapping thin SOC board. VN SMT suspected the blister to cause SOC board swelled and the both 1V05 power traces short to GND. From X-ray and cosmetic also did not see abnormal. The NG SOC cannot remounted anymore. Please see the attached file. Thank you. |
Hi Mr. SH, NG SOC FA report from Synaptics has feedback. The FA result is SOC crack and cannot further FA for HDMI pins due to SOC cannot boot up. VN SMT has updated the report with FA report. Please see the attached file. Another Good SOC+NG PCBA has shipped to TW, it will transport to SQE for test LKFS ASAP. Thank you. |
Hi Mr. SH, We are sorry to inform that Good SOC+NG PCBA board cannot boot up any more after updated new image and mac address for LKFS test. We suspect SOC issue after remounted too many times and the SOC solder ball may non-wetting or cold soldering. We did reflow by heat gun to SOC but it still in re-booting. Check and debug PCBA for DDR, eMMC and SOC power rails also were normal. And trying to used SPI card to boot up, SOC still in re-booting. But before happened this symptom, this PCBA could boot up successfully but it entered in re-booting suddenly by itself without any symptom. Confirm with VN SMT and they said this PCBA cannot remounted any more and will damaged copper foil. We are sorry to inform this news to ALT. Thank you. |
Hi Mr. SH, We re-sent PCBA back to VN SMT for rework again. And changed SOC/eMMC/DDR components again. The results are still re-booting issue, also check x-ray, power rails and re-soldering DDR and SOC as Synaptics suggested, they all are failure. Our rework steps: 1. Changed SOC and checked the BGA pads on PCBA, no abnormal was found. See Pictures as no. 1. 2. Changed eMMC while changing SOC needed, eMMC BGA pads were also no abnormal found. See Picture as no. 2. 3. Changed DDR as U4/U5 first and U2/U3, also checked DDR BGA pads and were no abnormal found. See Picture as no. 3. 4. Check x-ray and all power rails, also no abnormal were found. See power check.jpeg. 5. Required Synaptics as further FA methods to do, they suggested to boot up by diag mode SPI card to check DDR. We saw from booting log shown the DDR verify fail. See Picutre no. 4. We took a good board to boot up by diag mode SPI card, the DDR could verify pass and boot up successfully. Compare and analyze for both NG and Good board boot up logs, found the NG board always stuck at DDR verified. MCU in SOC was trying to repointed to DDR booting space for executing booting up loaded from SPI card, but DDR verified fail always. 6. Synaptics still suspected DDR power rails and re-soldering issue. We checked and re-soldering again, the NG board was still rebooting and shown DDR verified fail as step1. 7. Conclusion, we suspected the PCB issue while blister within PCB material due to this PCB material was not fresh as new PCB material. Sorry we still could not repair this PCBA to boot up for LKFS test. Thank you. |
